My partner in crime

Congratulations to my beloved partner Andrew Nette on being short-listed for this year’s Victorian Premier’s Literary Award for an Unpublished Manuscript by an Emerging Victorian Writer.

The judge’s report describes Andrew’s novel Cambodia Darkness and Light as ‘a fast-paced, richly atmospheric spin on the Chandler-esque disillusioned gumshoe, keenly informed by the turbulent politics and history of Cambodia.’

A nomination and a favourable comparison to Raymond Chandler – way to go Roo!

Coincidentally, this is the same award I won in 2004. Andrew’s short-listing is a credit to his talent, hard work and perseverance. I think the book is great and I look forward to seeing it in print in the near future.

Winners of the Victorian Premier’s Awards will be announced on 28 September 2010.
